There has been a ton of new info and details revealed in the past week on NCAA 12. EASports devs Jordan Peterson and Ben Haumiller have posted a few blog posts revealing and going into detail on some of the exciting new features for NCAA 12. The Dev Blogs can be found here.

The last 4 blogs cover Dynasty Tuning, Custom Conferences, Custom Playbooks, and Web Improvements.

Web Improvements

Hey Everyone, Ben Haumiller back to talk more in depth about what you can expect when you take your Online Dynasty to the web in NCAA Football 12.

As we’ve already announced, the two biggest additions to the Dynasty web experience this year are the ability to advance the week from the web and the ability to use the new Super Sim app to play your games vs. CPU opponents. However, before we get into those I wanted to take a moment and clear up a couple of misconceptions that have surfaced since Monday’s blog. First is that you do not have to pay to access the Online Dynasty website. The site itself, and everything you could do last year continues to be free to use. Recruiting online, writing your Dynasty Wire stories, email alerts, stats/standings, etc. are all there for you to use simply by being a member of an Online Dynasty. Also, while access to Advance Week and Super Sim from the web do each come at a price of $2.99 it’s important to note that this is a onetime fee for the life NCAA Football 12. If you purchase access to Super Sim and participate in 20 different Online Dynasties over the course of your time playing NCAA Football 12, you will be able to Super Sim games in every one of those Dynasties. There is also a free 7 day trial for you to check out the Super Sim app for yourself and see what it’s all about before making the decision on purchasing access for the life of the game.

If you are the commish of a bunch of different Dynasties you will be able to advance the week in every one of them. Also, you are not required to purchase a commissioner bundle to be the commissioner of an Online Dynasty. You can still be the commissioner of one Online Dynasty without purchasing any PDLC.

Now that all of that is out of the way, let’s get on to the new stuff.

Goal for this year’s web updates

As I mentioned in Monday’s blog, the goal of the Online Dynasty website is to allow you the ability to access and participate in your Online Dynasties “anywhere, anytime”. Last year was a first step towards that goal with the ability to recruit online, create stories for the Dynasty Wire, sign up for Dynasty email alerts, view stats/standings/polls, etc. This year was another big step towards the goal by allowing you to participate in dynasty games as well as run the simulations that need to happen each week in order to move on to the next week of the dynasty.

With the addition of Super Sim and Advance Week we have reached the point where if you are scheduled to play a CPU team in the current week, you can complete your tasks for that week without ever having to boot up your console. Let’s flash forward to launch day. You and your friends get the game, join the same Online Dynasty, and get through week 1 on the first day. Now its day two and you and your friends are going to spend all day at work/class. Now you can fly through the weeks of your Dynasty (while on break or in between class of course) to get to those human vs. human battles when you get home at the end of the day. You will be cruising through seasons faster than ever.

Super Sim

Now it’s time to play your game. Let’s run through the experience:

Here we see a Super Sim game already in progress. Starting from the top you will see your basic scoreboard information (i.e. teams, rank, score by quarter, possession indication, etc.). You will notice that there’s no play clock. That’s because you have all the time you need in between plays to get your personnel just how you want them for the next play, your CPU opponent has all the time in the world, so there’s no rush. You will also see on the right side an Options button and a Skip Ahead button.

Options allows you to turn on/off the background music that plays during the game as well as the SFX that play during specific events in the game.

Skip Ahead gives you the option to advance to a later point in the game (next possession, next quarter, end of game).

You do also have the ability to pause the current game and pick it up later. Simply close the app and your game will be saved off in its current state and can be picked up and finished later. You might be wondering if you can start the game on the web and then finish it on the console (or go from console to web). The answer is, not this year, so if you try this you will find yourself starting the game over from scratch and having to explain your restart warning to the rest of your Dynasty.

Moving on, we next come to the “action window” of the app. Here you will see the events of the game unfold. You can sim the currently selected play and view the results, access your playbook to call your own play, or ask the coach for a new play to run. Let’s take a look at the Playbook option first:

Here we see LSU’s entire offensive playbook (Note: Custom playbooks are not available from web Super Sim), I can move through the formations, find the play I want and either select to sim the current play from here, or select the play to then make personnel changes. I’m not ready to sim yet, so let’s select a play:

Here we see the play I selected, and the current personnel on the field for that play. I can highlight any player on the field to get a stat breakdown of their performance in the game. Here I’m highlighting the QB and can see key stats as well as his current fatigue level. If I want to make a sub for the current play all I need to do is click the highlighted player to get a look at that position’s depth chart:

All I need to do here is click on the player I want to sub in, and I can make the change right there without having to mess with my depth chart. This is a one play sub only, so if you are looking to make more long term changes you will want to head down to the depth chart (which we will do in a minute).

Once I have my players set, it’s time to run the play. Hit that Simulate Play Now button and get your result:

This window will not only show the basic result of the play, but on events like sacks, interceptions, touchdowns , etc. you will get a special animation and VO from Brad Nessler

The next set of features are where you can edit your depth chart, follow the current drive, view the scoring summery, and check out player and team stats. Let’s start with the depth chart:

Pretty straight forward; using a simple drag and drop interface, you can shift around your depth chart for each position. Auto-sub Settings allows you to set your sub in/out frequency, and you can also utilize mass subs to get your 2nd string some work in a blow out.

Next we have the Drive Summary, which gives you a nice graphical representation of what’s happened during the drive and where you currently are on the field.

Player Stats and Team stats are just what you think, so rather than bore you with details like letting you know that the number of 1st downs are tracked I’ll just show you a few shots of the web stats and then the console stats for that same game so that you can see the results are exactly the same:

Advance Week

The Advance Week option does exactly what it says, it advances you to the next week in your Dynasty. While that might seem trivial at first, this was actually a tremendous technical undertaking. Each time the week is advanced all of the CPU vs. CPU games need to be simmed, the Top 25 needs to be updated, the Heisman and other awards need to have their favorites updated, stories need to be generated for the ESPN headlines, recruiting results for every team and every prospect need to be processed and updated, Players of the Week named, Conference Standings updated, coach contracts updated, stats and records updated…, the list goes on and on. One click of a button for you launches many different events that need to get moved to the server in order for this to happen.

What this means for you commissioners is that once you get that email alert letting you know the week is ready to advance you can hop on the site, click that button, and keep everyone in the Dynasty moving without having to wait to get home to fire up the console, which will hopefully increase the peace between hostile Dynasty members and their globetrotting commissioners.

That wraps up the web improvements for this year. Check back tomorrow as I’ll go in depth on the new Custom Conference feature.

Custom Playbooks

Hi NCAA Football fans, NCAA Football 12 designer Jordan Peterson here, and I could not be happier to provide some more information about one of the many new features of NCAA Football 12: Custom Playbooks. In this particular blog, I will be walking you through the process of creating a Custom Playbook.

First, let me establish some basics for custom playbooks, and address some of the questions I have seen on the forums. You will be able to create 30 Playbooks, 15 for both Offense and Defense. These Custom Playbooks can be used in Offline and Online Dynasty, any Play Now game, and in Ranked Online games. Now, let’s create a Custom Playbook!

The first step to create a Custom Playbook is selecting a base playbook. This playbook will appear with all of its current plays, and audibles, once you are in the Playbook Editor. Please keep in mind that your Hail Mary, Goal Line and Special Teams plays will be associated with your base playbook, and cannot be edited. So choose wisely!

This is the main hub of Custom Playbooks. From here, you will be able to view your playbook as it will appear in-game by selecting View Playbook, in addition to accessing Adding/Removing Plays, Formations and Audibles. You may also note that for each Custom Playbook there will be a maximum of 377 plays and 40 formations that can be selected. However, for those of you that prefer a more minimalistic view, you can reduce your playbook down to only 50 plays. Before we get into editing the Custom Playbook, let’s take a quick look at the base playbook.

From this view, you will be able to view plays that are currently in each formation, in addition to accessing Add/Remove Formations. Once you have advanced into a particular formation via View Plays, you can jump to the Reorder Plays screen and Add/Remove Formations. The functionality for maneuvering through Play and Formation views should be very familiar; it’s the same functionality for Playcall in game.

Now, if for some reason I wanted to add a power running game to my spread offense, Add/Remove Formation will allow you to add entire formations to your playbook with a single button press. Here you will find every formation, from every single playbook we have in the game. The options here are practically limitless.

However, if you’re like me, you may want to break down your Custom Playbooks even further. Selecting Edit Plays will provide an even deeper level of customization of your playbook. From here, you will be able to add any single play from the global playbook pool, or, trim your playbook down to a more manageable size. Only want to run 6 plays out of Strong I: Close? Trim it down and make it easier to find your plays.

Finally, those of you that always wanted to see your plays in a particular order within a playbook, or have spent what seems like hours frantically scouring a playbook for a particular play, can now rearrange your plays on the Reorder screen. From here, you will be able to drag and drop each play and arrange your playbook so it appears exactly as you want it to in game. Never again will you have to search through a massive playbook to find the particular play you like to use in a particular situation.

And that’s the final step. From there you can rename your playbook, and use it in Play Now, Dynasty, Online Dynasty and even Ranked games. Or, go ahead and create more playbooks.

I hope you enjoyed this preview of Custom Playbooks, please stay tuned for more information on Dynasty and Road to Glory in the coming weeks.

Thanks again, and remember, NCAA Football will be available on July 12th!

Custom Conferences

Hey Everyone, Ben Haumiller here to give you the details on the new Custom Conferences feature in NCAA Football 12.

This is without a doubt one of the deepest features added to the game in years. With conference membership movements, conference rule changes, and editing BCS bowl tie-ins the combinations you can make in your Dynasty are almost endless. Plus, you can make updates in future years of the Dynasty, which not only allows you to make updates based on changes in the real world, but also allows you to make whatever changes you prefer to see in your Dynasty.

There’s a lot to talk about, so let’s get to it:

Conference Realignment

The hot topic of the last off-season was conference realignment and the possibility of 16 team super conferences seemed very, very real. As a college football fan it was fascinating to watch these stories develop. Rumors of major shifts in the college landscape seemed to happen almost hourly at times and trying to keep up with the news left your head spinning with possibilities of how these new conferences might play out on the field.

Great Plains/Great Lakes anyone?

Not only were the rumors rampant, but they also felt like they were never ending. Just when it appeared as though the dust had settled on schools moving conferences TCU jumped to the Big East and the Mountain West set their eyes on a few schools from the WAC. Even as I type this there are still talks of the Big East looking to expand.

It’s because of this that we wanted to give you the flexibility to expand/contract conferences to be able to adapt to the changes in the real world. Even though we are not able to go higher than 120 schools in this year’s game, we allow the ability to take a conference below the required eight schools so that you can move Fresno State, Nevada, and Hawaii out of the WAC even though that drops the WAC down to five schools.

There are three ways you can edit conference membership. Just like last year you can import a TeamBuilder school to replace an existing school and swap schools between divisions or conferences (i.e. you can swap Florida State and Virginia Tech so that FSU is in the Coastal and VT is in the Atlantic). Now for the first time ever you can move a school from one conference to another without having to replace that school in the conference.

You can go to a max of 16 schools in a conference, and as mentioned above, drop down to as few as four schools in a conference. The exception to this is Independents. You will be able to grow Independents to as many as 32 schools and as few as one school, which can really shake up the college football world.

For divisions in a conference 12 is the magic number. Drop a conference below 12 members and the divisions disappear; go to 12 schools or more and you will see schools split into two even divisions. Once the divisions are set, you can swap schools within the conference to get them aligned just the way you want.

One final note on conference realignment: the movement of schools is all up to you now (or your commissioner in an Online Dynasty). Since the old conference invite/demote logic had a lot of issues and only involved human controlled teams, we decided to give you the power to adjust conference membership, rules, and BCS tie-ins during future years of the Dynasty so that you can make the moves that you see fit.

Conference Rules

Once you have the schools where you want them, the next step is to adjust the rules for each conference. The rules are set based on what the conferences do in real life by default, but here you get a chance to change things how you see fit:

Schedule type – if you have 12 schools or more you will have the option to choose what type of schedule you want: one with protected rivals or one without. Protected rivals on means you will have one anchored opponent in the other division of your conference that you play every year while the remaining cross divisional schools will rotate on/off the schedule after a home/home series. College football wouldn’t be the same if Ohio State didn’t play Michigan every year, so if you keep them in separate divisions, make sure they are set as protected rivals.

The number of conference games depends on the schedule type you select and the number of schools. By default all conferences use the correct schedule type, but we needed to account for how conference schedules would work for conferences with less than eight schools or more than 13. Here’s a quick breakdown of how many conference games will be played for each schedule type:

4-8 schools – 7 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else. For conferences of 4-6 schools FCS opponents will play the part of your additional conference games

9 schools – 8 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else.

10 schools – 9 conference games. There are no protected rivals since everyone plays everyone else.

11 schools – 8 conference games with a rotation of other conference members.

12 schools – 8 conference games when using protected rivals. 9 conference games when not using protected rivals. (Note: C-USA will use their 8 conference game, no protected rival format by default)

13 schools – 8 conference games. Protected Rivals are not available in conferences with odd numbered schools.

14 schools – 8 conference games when using protected rivals. 9 conference games when not using protected rivals.

15 schools – 10 conference games. Depending on the rotation you will have 6-7 division games in a year with 3-4 rotating cross divisional games (based on the MAC’s 13 school schedule rotation)

16 schools – 9 conference games. With protected rivals you will have 7 division games, 1 protected rival, and 1 rotating cross division opponent. Without protected rivals you will have 7 division games and 2 rotating cross division games.

Night Games in November – in an attempt to get every possible detail of a conference correct we added this setting. The Big Ten is currently the only school that abides by this rule, but if night games in snowy conditions are your thing go ahead and turn this off…the player’s won’t mind.

Weekday Games – some conferences only play on Saturday, while others seem to take the field any time someone says they will show up with a TV camera.

Start Conference Games – Are you a fan of getting the non-conference games out of the way at the start of the season? Make sure you set this so that the conference games start later in the season.

Location for Championship Game – once you have 12 or more schools you will determine your conference champion with a championship game. Here you will be able to set where that game is played. You can select any stadium in the game, any bowl game, any school’s home stadium, even the high school stadium and practice fields. If you aren’t into the neutral site thing, go ahead and set it so that the school with the best conference record hosts the game (like the PAC-12 and Conference USA do).

Division Names – When you go from 11 to 12 schools the default names are Div A and Div B. It’s up to you to change that to whatever you want. You can also edit existing division names too if that’s your thing.

Protected Rivalries – here you can set up each protected rival matchup. In the Great Lakes/Great Plains example above, you can make sure the Battle for the Land Grant Trophy carries on every year by setting Penn State and Michigan State as protected rivals.

Schedule Logic

Now seems as good a time as any to talk about some of the new schedule logic that was added to make sure that certain games were scheduled on certain dates even if you changed conference sizes and moved rivals into different divisions.

College football is a sport overflowing with tradition, and there’s not shortcoming of traditions when it comes to the schedule. From the Third Saturday in October to Thanksgiving weekend you can set your watch to certain games kicking off on the same week every year. Protecting those traditions were very important when determining how schedules would be created when conferences changed membership and attempting to keep those rivalry games alive and scheduled on the correct date even when the schools have been moved to different conferences were also greatly considered when determining the new schedule logic.

If you take the Big Ten from 12 to 16 schools, Ohio State and Michigan should always play in the final week of the regular season. We’ve also been able to clear up an issue you might have seen in the past where an extra week was added to the end of the schedule allowing a non-conference game to be scheduled after Ohio State/Michigan week. I’m very excited to finally put that problem to rest.

Non-conference games are the last games to get filled when the schedules are created. If Auburn goes the Independent route but Alabama stays in the SEC, the game will still try and schedule the Iron Bowl for the last week of the season. If it can’t get scheduled that week it will try to find another week to schedule the game. This should help keep some semblance of normalcy to your schedules even though you made a ton of changes to conference memberships.

BCS Tie-ins

Now that you’ve got your conferences aligned and your rules set, it’s time to edit the BCS bowl tie-ins. For me, there’s nothing better than tailgating on Bourbon Street before heading into the Sugar Bowl, so I’m going to move the ACC Championship Game from Miami to the Big Easy. While we’re at it, let’s pair up the Big 12 and the Mountain West in the Fiesta Bowl, and have the Big East champ take on the Conference USA champ down in the Orange Bowl.

Here you have the ability to add/remove any BCS Bowl tie-in, which will determine how those BCS bowl slots get filed every year. You can fill all of the slots like I’ve done above, remove all tie-ins so that the BCS standings determine not only who plays in the BCS Championship Game but also who plays in each of the additional BCS games.

You can set a conference to be tied to a specific bowl, or you can set it so that the champion of a conference is guaranteed a spot in one of the BCS bowls, but not tied to a specific one (think Big East currently).

When you edit a conference’s bowl tie-ins it moves all other bowl game tie-ins up/down by one based on the change made. For example, if you remove the SEC BCS tie-in the SEC champ (if they don’t qualify for an at large BCS berth) will go to the Capital One Bowl, the #2 SEC school will go to the Outback Bowl, #3 to the Gator Bowl, and so on.

Well that about wraps up Custom Conferences. July 12th is fast approaching…time to start thinking about how you are going to lay out your conferences in NCAA Football 12. We’ve got more announcements still to come. Stay Tuned.

Dynasty Tuning

Hi NCAA Football fans, NCAA Football 12 designer Jordan Peterson here once again, this time to discuss some of the other improvements that have been made to Dynasty mode this year. This blog is going to focus on some of the tuning that was done this year to improve your overall Dynasty experience as well as answer some of the questions that have come up after the other Dynasty blogs were released this week. As you are about to see, based on your feedback we’ve made a lot of great improvements to the Dynasty mode experience in NCAA Football 12. Let’s get on to the updates.

Sway Pitch

One complaint we heard last year was that Sway Pitch felt like too much risk without enough reward and because of this, a lot of fans avoided using Sway Pitch all together which is something I never want to hear as a developer. This year, Sway Pitch has been tuned to provide more of a bonus when you are successful, and less of a penalty when you fail. Additionally, we’ve adjusted the percent chance that a Sway will be successful to help make Sway Pitch a more effective recruiting tactic, I believe you will now find the Sway Pitch option to have a greater impact during recruiting.

CPU Scholarship Offers

In addition to Sway Pitch, another significant improvement to recruiting is how efficiently the CPU will offer scholarships. Previously, the CPU would occasionally have a recruit that, even though he was ranked first on their board they would not offer a scholarship in order to close the deal and sign the prospect. The CPU will now offer scholarships more intelligently, and as a result, causes some much closer recruiting battles with the CPU against other CPU controlled teams and the user.

CPU Recruiting Based on Play Style

We have heard feedback regarding CPU not recruiting based on their play style, so this was one of our earliest adjustments for NCAA Football 12. Previously, if you were running an option offense, the CPU would simply take the best quarterback that was available, or possibly one just interested in the school. Now, you will find that the CPU will focus upon players that fit their particular play style. That means scrambling QBs will be targeted by option teams, while air raid teams will look for pocket passing quarterbacks.

Another community concern that we addressed for NCAA Football 12 is the balancing of the top 150 recruits. There was some discussion that there were not enough highly rated defensive prospects appearing in the ESPNU Top 150. Based on that feedback we have increased each defensive position’s chance of having a prospect worthy enough of being considered one of the top 150 prospects in the recruiting class.

Sim Running Stats

The sim stats for the running backs, backup running backs and quarterbacks were also tuned. Meaning when you sim in Dynasty, the backup HB will get more touches and, in turn, more rushing yards. Quarterback sim stats were adjusted to be more in line with actual NCAA results. The added benefit of tuning these stats is that it facilitated tuning Heisman. Throughout Dynasty you should now see a much better balance of several different position types winning the Heisman.

Incoming Prospect Ratings

Finally, we’ve updated the incoming ratings for all generated prospects with a focus on ensuring they are consistent with the recruits on the default roster. Now you won’t notice a drop off in overall player talent in future years of the Dynasty when the players on the default roster have graduated. I think you will find that some positions, in particular Kickers and Punters, will be far more accurate this year.

Answers to Previous Blog Questions

Earlier this week, we released the blog for Coach Carousel and two Quick Clip videos. I would like to take this opportunity to address some additional questions that I’ve seen on the forums.

Coach Carousel – Who was that mystery man?

In part 2 of the Quick Clips video, NC State hired their Offensive Coordinator, but he was not one of the top 3 candidates. Good catch! This is an example of the bonus that is provided to hiring within the current school. The Offensive Coordinator was not initially one of NC State’s top candidates, but when it came time to hire a coach they decided to stay in-house. Also, you may have noticed that as an A rated coach, he had a lower rating than some of the other Offensive Coordinators that were available.

Coaching Carousel – How fast can you climb the ladder?

Can you become a Head Coach at a 6 star school from a 1 star Offensive/Defensive Coordinator within 2-4 seasons? Yes, it is possible. However, it will require some exceptional skill on the player’s part to pass most, if not all, of their goals and some luck on the carousel. The right jobs need to open up at the right time to progress that quickly. This is certainly possible, but by no means easy to do.

Coaching Carousel – Prestige and Progression

How much does Coach Prestige impact progression? Coach Prestige is now a significant factor in the progression formula. It can also be tuned via Live Tuning Packs, so if at some point we feel it needs to play more or less of a part of progression, we can adjust it accordingly. However, we have kept the importance of Coach Prestige in mind when tuning and are very comfortable with its current impact upon progression.

Coaching Carousel – Is Coach Prestige your only rating?

As mentioned above, there have been a lot of questions on coach ratings and how the addition of the Coach Carousel will alter the course of a Dynasty in future years. We’ve talked a lot about how play styles move with the coach from one school to another and the impact that Coach Prestige has on the game, but I also wanted to point out that the Coach Loyalty rating is dynamic as well. If you are the type of coach that looks to hop from job to job every year, expect to have some struggles on the recruiting trail when a prospect wants to know if you will be there all four years to coach him. At the same time, there will be 119 other coaches out there just waiting to use that pitch against you when they get the chance.

Coaching Carousel – Default coach ratings

There seem to be quite a few A+ coaches? Keep in mind that default Coach Ratings can be edited, customized, and shared via Roster Share. If you want more of a challenge in your Dynasty, dropping their initial ratings will cause them to progress slower. Having said that, during the Carousel, schools will always look at A+ rated coaches that are out of a job.

Furthermore, each player in the Dynasty will start out with a Coach Prestige of D+. The contracts were designed with a slow progression to A+ in mind.

Coaching Carousel – Job Security and Wins/Losses

As an Offensive/Defensive Coordinator, will Job Security go up if we fail the objective based goals but win a lot of games? These contracts were implemented so that Wins and Losses have a significant impact upon job security. However, it is largely dependent upon the team prestige and the caliber of the contract.

Custom Playbooks – Formation Audibles

How are formation audibles set? Formation audibles are set automatically by the CPU for each formation in a custom playbook. The CPU will pick the play out of those in the custom playbook’s formation that most closely matches that particular formation audible.

Thanks once again for checking out our blogs this week and I’ll see you online when NCAA Football 12 releases on July 12th.

As many of you know, Tradition Sports Online is going through a bit of restructuring with its NCAA Premier Dynasties. The rosters were scoured and members in multiple premier leagues were forced to choose only 1 main league. A few leagues have lost premier status, and several more have made the move up to premier to replace them. Every premier member not in a premier dynasty has been thrown into a big draft pool. The Premier dynasties will then go and have a draft at some point in the near future. Foundation members who have a lifetime subscription to the site will have the possible opportunity of getting in 1 extra premier dynasty, but only after other premier members have been selected.

Here is the announcement concerning the new changes from staff member Shaun Mason:

Tradition Sports Online Community,

Today, the TSO management team (RynoAid, Drifterbub, Emmdotfrisk, HackGolfer and I) is happy to announce the Premier League linup for the upcoming NCAA ’12 release. As a community, we had a lot of discussion about how to handle this and after taking that into account, we came together as a management team and set our plans.

Like I personally stated multiple times in those very long discussions, the purpose of this is to provide our Premier membership group an opportunity to form and play in Premier Leagues, without carrying members into those leagues who do not represent the core values of TSO. In short, we want these leagues to be filled with the best of the best, held to a higher standard, and ultimately, we wanted these leagues to be the goal of our membership.

Along with these new leagues, we are putting into place a new expectation of commissioners and the members they lead. To help accomplish this, as well as provide more opportunity for more deserving people, we have decided that some changes were necessary to allow each premier member to be invested in their premier league.

Starting with NCAA Football ’12:

There will be a “1 premier league per premier member” policy. This includes commissioners.

There will be one commissioner per league, and that commissioner will be held responsible for the members in their league.

Management will be actively monitoring the status of leagues in regard to promotion/demotion.

Foundation Members will be allowed to be in two premier leagues if they desire, but with two restrictions. First, they must pick one premier league as their initial league and drop the other league. Second, if they still wish to be in two premier leagues, the may apply to be in the draft pool (more on the draft in a bit), but they will only be available for selection AFTER all other premier members requesting a spot have been selected. If you wish to be in two leagues, in most cases we would love to have you as a non-premier commissioner, or member.

In the future, hopping from league to league will not be tolerated. If you leave a premier league, you are not allowed to join another without management approval. We expect Premier Members to be year long gamers. Obviously, extreme circumstances will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

Once these leagues are announced, we expect the premier league commissioners to solidify their roster for the upcoming game release. Some of your members will be forced to leave or at the least pick between your league and another. Management expects this to be done in a respectful manner for all parties involved. Secondly, we expect the commissioners to prune the dead weight from their league. This is soley at the commissioners discretion, as they will be responsible for the behavior and activity of the members they represent.

Finally, there will be open spots available in Premier Leagues due to the effects of the policies already outlined. As has been discussed before, these spots will be filled via a draft.

I will post a thread for members to express intrest in entering the draft. They will be required to provide some information as to their gaming habits and styles so the commissioners have a better idea who to draft.

About the draft:

Only Premier Members can apply for selection.

The draft order will be disclosed later.

The draft will be a reverse snaking draft (i.e. the league with the #1 pick will pick last in the second round).

As noted above, the pool will be first Premier Members without a league, then Foundation Members.

Members have the right to refuse their selection, but they will drop to the below Foundation Members in the draft pool.

Post the draft, a trade period will be available where commissioners may choose to swap members based on management approval.

After the draft, this draft pool will be maintained, and openings (due to whatever) in the future will be pulled from this pool.

The Premier League Roster for NCAA ’12 will be:
Xbox League (Commissioner)

The Tradition (Hellisan)

The Deuce (Drifterbub)

The Trifecta (bravejaf)

The Experience (JCspartan2)

Unnamed Dynasty (RynoAid)

Unnamed Dynasty (Dru50)

The Legacy (HovaTheGodMC)

Hard4Yards (DirtyCashDylan)

The Redshirts (Pagamer07)

PS3 League (Commissioner)

Saturday Heroes (HackGolfer)

Cream of the Crop (G-Unit)

BCS Chaos (JerzeyReign)

Sim-Nation (Archie Griffin)

Z2H (sabo911)

I have put together a wishlist from the TSO users. I asked and you answered. Before we get started, I want to explain some of the guidelines I used for this list… I condensed down similar wishes and am not listing wishes to take away game features for the most part. I say we want more, not necessarily less. If a feature isn’t working properly, we should request it to get fixed and not removed. In order to keep this list and article too long, I used some personal discretion to pick and choose the wishes I think would be more likely plausible and ones I liked more. I apologize ahead of time if I didn’t include your personal request in the list. Maybe EA will read and consider this list, and we all know we have Ryno who is apart of the Game Changers program. He will read this and his input gives us all a voice.

Gameplay

-General

-Enable mass subs for user vs. user games.

- Challenge system needs to be reworked and added to User v User games in OD’s.

- Make special teams matter more… punts returning especially. Errant snaps, blocked punts etc…

-Allow custom packages on offense and defense.

-Implement a better pass interference system and pre-play aggressiveness setting.

-Tweak the no huddle offense by the CPU to be more realistic and less ‘cheesey’. They should be slowed down a bit and stay in the original formation.

-Fix cpu playcalling. The AI needs to be more intelligent in calling plays and use more situational awareness. The CPU blitzes and gets burned too often. On offense, the cpu shouldn’t call screens and draws several times in a row, or throw a 3 yard pass in 3rd and long.

-Make player size matter

-Give us an option on field goals to just press a button and have our kicker kick it. The outcome should be determined by probability based on how good your kicker is.

-Special teams needs to have more of an impact on the game. Blocked kicks and special plays on returns should happen.

-Passing

-More QB missed passes due to inaccuracy instead of most incompletions being from tips or ints.

-Apply more arc or better trajectories to passes to prevent the dreaded LB tips 10-15 yards downfield.

-Make fade routes more realistic.

-Make playaction passes more viable. As is, they result in sacks too often. Successfully running the ball should open up the playaction more.

-The receivers should go after the ball more aggressively for catches and to prevent interceptions.

-Running/Blocking

-There should be many more pancake blocks for users.

-The 3-4 blocking schemes do not quite work as they should. The D-line should be eating up blockers

-Create more realistic O-line play. Reduce or remove suction blocking, smarter AI for blockers, especially pulling guards and fullbacks. Linemen should be driven off the ball at times and there should be some movement of the line of scrimmage. Continue with the improvements made in ’11.

-Fix the running out of Shotgun. the shotgun running game is much more effective with no blitzes, and tends to get blown up when they defense blitzes.

-Late option pitches should have a lot more risk attached.

-Special running backs moves should have more impact. The spin and juke moves should do more than they currently do. It also appears that these moves just cause the defender to go around the ball carrier as opposed to the ball carrier avoiding the defender. Too many times these special moves are fumbles because the runner was suctioned to a hit stick tackle.

-Bring back the user controlled lead blocker feature.

-Defense

-Allow strongside and weakside designations for defenders.

-Allow defensive audibles or receiver assignments to match your best coverage guys to the top receivers.

-Tweak 3-4 defense to not automatically kill option offense.

-Smarter and more realistic defensive reaction and play for QB scrambling.

-Have defensive backs cover receivers who enter their zones.

-Defensive alignments. If in a 4-3 zone and the offense comes out in I-tight, the CB on the side without the flanker shouldn’t stay 10 yards wide of the end man on the LOS. He should move in to actually provide defensive help. Also, DBs and LB’s should understand coverages. In a cover 2, a DB shouldn’t give a WR an outside release. LBs in hook zones shouldn’t drop deeper than the hook zones, they should stay even with their man.

-Have more defensive playbook options and team specific defensive playbooks.

-Player fatigue should be more realistic. Defensive tackles should get tired faster and need to be rotated in and out.

-Create a larger window for defenders to hit stick and jar the ball from the receiver coming over the middle.

-Fix the defense on inside or slot receivers. As is they are unrealistic to defend.

-Implement the feature from Madden where defenders only make plays on balls when they can see them.

-Implement inside and outside techniques for corners and be able to assign them individually.

Online Dynasty

- Commish should have the ability to sim and toss game results in an online dynasty for user games until he gets the desired result.

- Easier ways to monitor everyone’s recruiting, restarts, stats, etc…

- More in depth recruiting with scouts needing to confirm player abilities instead of knowing them right away. This would bring another dimension into recruiting to actually have to put eyes on a player.

- Allow users to vote for Coaches poll.

- Secondary position rating for each player so they don’t lose attributes after coming in as athlete.

- Make offseason training more in-depth where you can choose what your players need to work on – maybe incorporate the practice mode from RTG for a selected few players and allow the practice results to be allocated to ratings boosts.

- Online Dynasty to Dynasty Wire link needs to be debugged in a few instances where people download a copy of the online franchise and the try to host it again. It breaks everything.. uploading videos, ability to write articles.. etc.

- Add medical redshirts

- Create the spring game – designate impact players for rating boost.

-Implement the high school and All American games.

-There should be a “current performance” pitch, and it should matter A LOT to some recruits. A surprise team should generate more interest with the bigger recruits.

-Decrease the impact and importance of team prestige some. Prestige should fall more under program tradition. Some pitches should matter much more than others to different recruits.

-Wide receiver prospects seem to be lacking in speed and overall talent. There are too many 3* guys with A speed and C acc. That is flat out unrealistic. You don’t see this with CB prospects, whose speed and acc seem to be more balanced. Not to say there shouldnt be B- speed guys with A acc, or A speed guys with B acc. But the logic needs to be tuned.

-Athletes should be more versatile. Too many athletes are only viable at one position.

-There should be more viable 3-4 OLB recruits.

-There needs to be more sleeper 3 and 4 stars and some 5 star busts.

-Add coordinators and a coaching carousels.

-With coordinators, they need to flush out coach ratings and tendencies. The OVR and growth of your player should DIRECTLY be effected by the scheme in which they play. This will make recruiting a bit more of a challenge, as you’ll have to pass on guys that won’t flourish in your system and dig deeper for those who will. Can’t stress this enough, probably the most important addition that needs to come.

-Teams should recruit smarter and more realistic to their schemes. Option teams should get option and not pocket QBs for example.

-Show where players were drafted each year in the offseason.

-Allow coaches in online dynasty to be able to focus practice on team and individual goals. For example, as a team, make the coach select a few plays / formations to work on in practice for the week. Have it result in increased awareness for the players in that specific play/formation. Also, have players / positions go through certain individual drills to increase their abilities during the season.

-Make guys who fit the style you choose more attractive to your school and in turn possibly ups the recruit. For example, I don’t think a pocket style QB should want to go to GT because they run flexbone. Likewise, a speedy QB should shy away from a west coast air raid type offense.

- A decent amount of top 150 recruits should wait until signing day to make their decisions, and a nice presentation/signing day showcase would be nice, where you find out where the top talent decides to go.

- CPU recruiting logic – The cpu really needs to fill out their rosters more realistically. Many positions are over recruited while the cpu gets walk-ons on the others.

-Allow adjusting of conferences mid dynasty.

- Remove the ability to see all the stats for recruits right from the go in week 1, require users to spend time to actually scout the players.

-You should be able to tab certain players team captains.

-Enable the ability to deny transfers.

-Be able to recruit for certain attributes, such as CBs with the highest press coverage, etc and to be able to locate JUCOs easier.

-Allow rearranging of conference games when adjusting the schedule

Presentation

- Game film – Be able to watch a selection of plays from upcoming opponents previous games.

- Live Broadcast or recorded broadcast… (think micro-transaction to cover your costs… guys will pay and understand why they have to pay for this).

-Create a signing day presentation.

-Add more songs from the bands.

- Update the commentary. Currently the commentary is old analogies. How about Kirk and Brad say something specific to a player or game for once.

- Add more pregame commentary for user games where Lee and Kirk pick winners and identify keys to the game or critical matchups. Moreso than the generic crap they’ve had in there the past 6 years.

-Develop player story lines. Follow star players more and injured players timelines.

-Add a spectator mode for other users to watch games.

Miscellaneous

-Have QB passing ratings similar to madden for short, medium, and deep throw, and on the run accuracy ratings.

-Being able to schedule “neutral site” games between two users like the 2012 Alabama/Michigan game @New Cowboys Stadium.

-Add the ability to shuffle full playbook in practice mode.

-Allow different settings for user/user games and user/CPU games. For example: heisman difficulty for user/CPU games but AA difficulty for user/user. 6 minute qtrs for user/CPU but 7 minute qtrs for user/user games.

- Scouting reports of opponents – plays most frequently ran, playbooks, etc similar to that in Madden.

-I would like the ability to view the history as a head coach. There should be a portfolio or something that can open up and view every year of the coach. One should see every game result for the particular season and see a graph of how fan support has increased or decreased over the tenure.

-Adjust the player attributes. Putting in backups at the end of games should get credit for in game experience and certain categories should get a boost more than they do now.

-Playbooks. Adding one or two new plays to formations is nice, but looking online at older generations of NCAA, the plays were really diverse.

-Injury Continuity. If a player gets injured and is out an extended amount of time, he shouldnt be able to practice.

I will be spotlighting the Premier Dynasty ‘The Experience’ and interviewing new commissioner JCspartan2 who has recently taken over the duties from staff member Shaun Mason. The Experience is a 3 conference dynasty divided up in the SEC, Big 10, and ACC. The dynasty is currently in week 4 of Season 6 and member GoGators with this Florida squad has taken home the last 3 National Championships.

Here is a quick rundown of how things stand and some projections for the season courtesy of JCspartan:

-I would definitely say that Gators is favored again. He has far better talent than anyone else in the dynasty. PSU (AJ Hart MN) is probably the next closest talent wise so they may have a shot, and Gators has to travel to Alabama this year (Maslerboros) which won’t be easy either. Still, Gators has shown that with the talent he has he is nearly impossible to beat. I have yet to play him actually so I don’t know too much about the way he plays, but my team couldn’t stack up against his talent-wise anyway.

-Gators would also be favored in the SEC with the other users being Masler (Bama), Fuzzyl0gic (Georgia), and LSU (PAgamer07). LSU is talented but already suffered an early loss to an inferior team. Georgia just beat me on a crazy TD reception with 2 broken tackles and no time left, they are decently talented but I don’t see them knocking off the Gators. Masler has a shot at Bama, but he always slips up once against the CPU.

-In the Big Ten it will probably come down to myself and AJ (PSU), but Big Suge has the best team he’s had yet (Michigan) so he might be more in the mix this season. My team has significantly less talent than the other two, but I have yet to lose to Michigan and lost on a late FG in my first game against AJ at PSU last season. Both of them come to MSU this season so I’m thinking the ball is in my court.

-The ACC is a tough one to call. GT (Gowazzucougs) is probably not competitive enough yet, he took them over last season and they were a mess. BlLL Flo (Clemson) is always tough and one of the top teams, but he has an early season loss already. Virginia (Recchem2000) is in the same boat as GT and is rebuilding. Florida State (Dakota7) is loaded once again and is probably the favored team at this point, but Clemson will be tough.

I then sat down with the new commish for a Q&A session.

Quick Bio:
Name: Jordan Cantor
Age: 24
Job: I currently work as a research technologist at MSU doing lab research on diabetes, and I start medical school at MSU in July.
Hobbies: I play a ton of video games, obviously, but I also play just about every sport. My main sport is tennis, I was all-state in high school and was the president of the MSU club tennis team for 2 years before graduating.

How did you become a member of Tradition Sports Online?

OFFL merged with TF in 2010, and thus all of us made our way over. With the drop of the 2011 game, those of us that participated in the E-league of OFFL (hova, basis, psycho, jello, big suge knight, masler, etc…) were made premier members of The Experience as the OFFL was completely transitioned into what is now TSO. I first became a member of OFFL in 2009 when I found it online and asked if I could join despite the fact that I was a lot younger than the rest of the guys. I believe Basis made the final decision and allowed me in.

What is the history of The Experience dynasty?

The OFFL (Old Fellas Football League) originated in 2009 when it first became available to participate in an online dynasty. It was basically TF but on a much much smaller scale and was designed for middle aged guys with busy work schedules. Eventually, the OFFL expanded into 5 leagues, one of which was the E-league and was our version of a “premier” league. It was the league that was supposed to generate the most content and have the most committed members. The E-league is what then transformed into the current “Experience” premier league.

How long have you been playing NCAA and playing it online?

I have been playing NCAA for a long time, probably since 2003 or so, and have played online ever since the online dynasty function became available.

What is your favorite NCAA team? Do you usually try to play as them or do you like to build up a weaker team?

My favorite team is Michigan State. I grew up an hour away from campus and recently graduated from MSU. I bleed Green and White. I usually try to play as MSU, and since they are not a top tier team in football it is usually a rebuilding project. I always prefer to take on weaker teams and build them up, I have yet to start any dynasty with a top tier team to date.

Is this your first time as a commish of an online dynasty?

Yes this is my first time. I have enjoyed my time in the Experience and E-league under basis and shaun. I never saw myself taking over nor being the commish of another league as I was mostly committed to The Experience and didn’t want to distract myself elsewhere. So far I have enjoyed being the commish and it helps when you have a good group of guys already in place like we did in the Experience.

How do you feel about taking over a premiere dynasty like the Experience and what do you think you bring to the table as the commish?

Well, the circumstance in which I took over we’re not ideal (shaun stepping down because of personal reasons). I would loved to have continued with Shaun at the helm, I have a great deal of respect for the guy and the way he goes about things. I am lucky in that I am taking over a league that I have been a part of since it’s inception, and already have a good core group of guys in place. It was not a difficult transition and I’ve really enjoyed the ability to add my own style to the way things are done. I’m still working on getting acclimated with everything, mainly getting a set of sliders FINALLY decided on. I feel that I am a very committed guy to both the league and it’s members. I’m not one to step on toes and would prefer the rest of the league act in the same manner. The most important thing, to me, in any league is that everyone enjoys and looks forward to playing each other and discussing various game issues on the forum. If that ever becomes a chore than I’m not doing my job.

What kind of hurdles do you and the league face finishing out this year and going into NCAA 12?

The biggest issue with The Experience this year has been turnover. We have had a lot of members, especially founding members, leave the league for their own reasons. We have had some luck in replacing guys like Basis, Jello, and Shaun with solid members from lesser leagues such as Recchem2000, AJ Hart MN, and PAgamer07, but we’ve also had our fair share of flake outs. With how recent some of this turnover has been my main goal is to get a group of 12 guys set in stone for the drop of the ’12 game and make sure they are committed for thelong run and not just using this as a side league. If I can get that done it should be smooth sailing into ’12. We do still have a few of the founding members: Maslerboros, Big Suge Knight, GoGators. My hope is that the newer guys can get acclimated quickly because of the experience surrounding them.

Any memorable moments that come to mind in the Experience in NCAA 11?

My most memorable moment in the dynasty is beating a far superior OSU team headed by Shaun in year 2 and winning the Big Ten. I should have headed to the national championship but I lost a close game at Miami (HovathegodMC) in the last week of the season. I still went to the rose bowl and won. That season has paid huge dividends in recruiting, making MSU a 6* team.

What do you think makes the Experience special and stand out from other dynasties?

I’m going to stick my neck out a little here. Based on my experiences in The Experience and T1 and from talking to the other guys in The Experience about their time in other premier or non-premier leagues, our league exhibits the most sim-style play and the most commitment of any of the leagues on the site from each member. No one is out to cheat the other guy, no one is a sore loser, everyone participates on the boards and gets their games done in a timely manner. Others may disagree, but I believe The Experience sets the standard for sim-play and community atmosphere.

I thank you for the interview JCspartan, is there anything else you would like to add?

Some of the members of my league deserve some attention as being great members to both the Experience and the site. I have played with Maslerboros16 and Big Suge Knight since 2009. Both of those guys are incredibly sim players, great forum contributors, and most importantly they are good guys to shoot the shit with. This year we added guys such as GoGators, Gowazzucougs, Dakota7, and AJ Hart MN who have all stepped up in a big way lately and brought a lot to the league. All of them are great guys and the site is lucky to have ‘em.

I greatly appreciate JCspartan2 for taking the time to let us take a look into The Experience Dynasty. I will start making this spotlight article a series and go around the leagues and members for interviews and Q&A sessions. If you would like to be a part of one, please send me a message.

Introduction

Hello, I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to be the new Content Manager for Tradition Sports. I am very excited to start these activities as I plan to help flesh out our gaming community with news, blogs, and other various content. Our goal is to give our users a compelling reason to log into the main page first, and not just jump straight to the forums.

For those who don’t know me, I am relatively new to Tradition Sports. I joined this community back July for this year’s NCAA. I have been sports gaming since the early 90′s, and playing in online leagues at various sites ever since online gameplay was enabled on consoles. While the other sites I have played in were good and had their own merits, Tradition Sports gives me an unique experience with the best persistent online dynasty player base and league systems around. I am currently a member of The Duece premier dynasty and former commissioner of the now defunct Proving Grounds. We were able to find several great owners from that ‘new guy’ league who have gone on to become valuable members of other premier dynasties.

Goal

I want to generate my own along with gathering content from our user base to have compelling articles and both gaming and dynasty news up on the main site. With that being said, I want to harness the community’s best resource, which is its members, to help me put up interesting content and pull the community together even more. I encourage everyone to message me potential big stories, some of the great video footage captured, or highlighting big games in the dynasties. I welcome anything you guys feel should be up on the main page and is worthy of attention to be sent to me for consideration. The more we all put in, the more we will get out.

Preview

Here is a list previewing some of the content to expect:

Gaming News – If Tradition Sports has a league for it, I will post relevant gaming news or links to developer sites or blogs with the latest revelations. All members are encouraged to bring to my attention any gaming news that may have overlooked or that you feel worthy to be mentioned.

Dynasty/League News – Here I will put the highlights and updates of our dynasties and leagues. A focus will be put on the premier leagues, but all leagues will have their time to shine! This can range from upcoming or recaps of big user games, special awards, video footage, or announcements and so on. If you think something in your dynasty should be posted, send me a message. I will be doing my own scouring of the boards for the dynasty updates, but member contributions would be very valued.

Member Interviews – I plan to periodically interview some of our more established members. Get their thoughts on the state of the games, site, and dynasties and maybe a quick peek into their lives and what motivates them.

Game Previews, Impressions, and Reviews – Here we will give our official TSO previews and reviews of games that are covered by the TSO leagues and dynasties. This will basically cover all sports games and some first-person shooters.

Polls – Will put up some voting on hot topics or suggestions to be voted upon by the users. Then once concluded, a brief analysis of the results.

Opinion Articles – I will post members and my opinion articles. Got something on your mind about the games or the site? Have some recommendations for next year’s title? I will post constructive criticisms, wishlists, and any other opinionated address under this category from time to time.

League Openings – Something everyone should get excited about. I plan to work with admins and put together a spot on the main page that lists current league openings. This will be the one stop spot for new and veteran guys to go when looking to join another league. May have league names, descriptions, openings, and what each league is looking for in a new member. Then, I will provide a link to that leagues forums or a commish name to pm with interest. This will be updated by commissioners messaging me with new and closed openings.

Wrap-Up

Well, I hope this gets you guys as excited as I am for this opportunity to expand and build upon the site to make it an even greater place to spend our web browsing time. I look forward to the member response and the tasks ahead of me. Thanks for reading and happy gaming!

September 9, 2010

By: Harry Stone, Jacksonville Post-Intelligencer

JACKSONVILLE, FL- Three turnovers, only 56 yards passing, and less than 200 yards of total offense for Jacksonville.

Final score 38-7.

Jaguars.

Rarely have such putrid offensive numbers resulted in a rout the way they did in rainy Jacksonville last night.

However, the Jacksonville ‘Green Machine’ defense forced six turnovers, all interceptions thrown by all-world quarterback Peyton Manning, and also scored two touchdowns of their own to help Jacksonville to improve to 4-0 this season.

Defensive lineman Shawne Merriman and newly aquired Pat Simms both intercepted Manning passes and returned them for touchdowns. Merriman and Simms were beneficiaries of heavy pressure on the opposite side of the line by Aaron Kampman who hit Manning right as he was releasing the football each time. Kampman finished yesterday’s game with three sacks and five tackles.

“It’s one of the best defenses I’ve been a part of in my career,” said Kampman. “It’s fun to play with Shawne (Merriman). Not very many guys have a motor like mine, but he does.”

Cornerbacks Rasheen Mathis, Derek Cox, and Scott Starks has another marvelous outing with four interceptions and 10 pass deflections combined. Starts had two of those interceptions, a career high for the nickel corner.

Offensively the Jaguars are still looking for answers, and although Maurice Jones-Drew continues his feverish early season pace (122 yards, 3 touchdwons) the passing game again was nearly non-existent. Quarterback David Garrard has escaped critisicm in the early season as his team has played well in route to an undefeated start. However the lack of production at the QB spot is troubling to Coach Dunlap.

“Right now, we’ve got some serious issues we are trying to address. Just because we are winning doesn’t mean we are satisfied,” Dunlap lamented.

“I kind of feel like we are cutting a chickens head off, putting a band-aid on it, and then calling it good. Yeah, sometimes the chicken will run in the right direction and get where you want it to go, but you’d be fooling yourselves to think that will happen consistently. With our schedule coming up, it’s going to be tough for us to compete without some threat of the pass.”

The Jaguars #1 ranked defense will be tested next week in Buffalo. The Bills recently defeated the three time defending AFC East Champion New England Patriots. Coach Dunlap is 2-0 against the Bills during his tenure in Jacksonville.

Leading the nation in scoring, the Purdue offense has been a well oiled machine through the air and the ground. This week was another offensive show as the Boilermakers blew out Ball St

QB Caleb TerBush has another stellar game in his first season as the Purdue starter going 15-22 for 369 yards and 4 TD. He has been putting the ball on the money every game and finding his open man very often. Senior WR Keith Smith was a man among boys scoring 2 TDs and leading the team with 169 yds receiving.

The game started like the previous two Purdue games with TerBush hitting his receivers early and often. Al-Terek McBurse and George Brigandi punched in a rushing TD a piece to put the Boilermakers up 14-0 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw the WRs find the endzone as Smith scored and WR Keith Carlos added two TD receptions of his own. By that time Ball St. was already thinking about their trip back home.

The Purdue D then got into the action forcing tons of turnovers. Ball St. QB Kelly Page kept insisting on testing CB Charlton Williams and was rewarded with 3 INTs by the Redshirt JR. Williams has been an interception machine early on in season grabbing 8 in three games to lead the nation. DE Gerald Gooden added 2 sacks to the defensive effort.

Next week Purdue faces Toledo before they head into a bye week. After the BYE the Big Ten season begins for the Boilermakers.
